Pub 518 would like to welcome Christine Bigley to the Droids & Dragons team. Christine grew up in Upstate New York but now lives in Northern Germany.

We asked Christine how she started to write and she told us, "I loved writing as a child and in high school. I came back to it after completing The Artist Way in 2017."

Christine has been published in various anthologies in Germany and in Austria, as well as in Pub 518's 2025 anthology, Catskill Chaos.

What a writer reads will give them inspiration. With Christine it's Ray Bradbury's "Dandelion Wine" and his short story "The Lake". Bradbury has influenced Christine's writing and made her think about what she puts down on paper.

Christine's short story in Droids & Dragons is 'Silent Greta'. A tale about a droid who finally decides not to stay silent about the ongoings in a research laboratory. Christine told us, "The story is loosely based on a fairy tale idea that came to me while brainstorming. I wanted to write in a genre I hadn't tried before. Greta wrote herself, with many edits."

Here's the standout snippet from 'Silent Greta' that will keep you turning the page.

'Between her and freedom lay a single device.'

When we asked Christine what's her favorite book, she replied, "Demian" by Hermann Hesse. A great book that searches for self-identity and spiritual awakening.

All writers have superpowers and Christine has a super-superpower. She is a fast drafter. "After carrying a loose idea with me, I dump it all onto paper the first chance I get." This is a skill that a lot of writers wished they had, me included.

If you are looking for a great quick read, then check out Christine's story, 'Silent Greta'. Droids & Dragons. is available on Amazon and drops 9/25/2026.
